Rockabye Lullaby

Hi! Hey, y’all! So, most people that are in school are out for summer break right now. Of course, there are some crazy humans who take summer classes, but we’re talking about most people.  For most people who are still in school, summer is a time of freedom. Even those with jobs, often are only working part time. This freedom makes it a little easy to get out of routine. All kinds of adventures happen, but one thing tends to be common with everyone: sleep schedules turn a 180.

That is exactly what has happened to the two of us. We were going to be responsible humans and try to keep some semblance of good sleep like the baby-adults that we are.

That lasted until about the beginning of this week (maybe seven weeks? give or take a few days). For vaguely concerning random pain, I was given a steroid injection, which I’d like to blame most of our lack of rest for. Since, you know, ACG and I are attached at the brain apparently. #) Of course we are. Friends that don’t-sleep together stay together. 😉 I wasn’t given a steroid shot, but I was still up, because, well, AJA and I are tight, and why not stay up for most of the dark hours together?

Really, though, for reasons other than being baby-adults we are going to try to get back on schedule, because we also like seeing each other during the daytime, too. True. And that’s sometimes a little hard to do on a continual three to five hours of sleep. Yeah, that’s not a long term functional process for anyone.

So, to everyone who is partying all night and sleeping all day, enjoy it. One day you’ll have to be more grown-up, do things during the day, and sometimes stay up too late for the occasional party. If you’re one of the ones who’s never stayed up all night at least once a week on any given summer, please try it sometime. It’s a great time (great might be a stretch, unless the company is right forgot that modifier, whoops).

Keep your pillows in the garden and your sheep in the kitchen! 🙂 ❤ 😀 😉 😛 O.o

Drive safely, which can only really be done on a proper amount of sleep. 😉 ❤

Five Seasons of Moms

Hi! Hey, y’all! So, thanks to Netflix, we hit a major goal this weekend. As you may recall, during spring break we were on a mission to binge watch a show called Switched at Birth. We didn’t have that opportunity at the time for a couple of reasons: time restriction and the fact the last season wasn’t released on Netflix until this Thursday! It was so annoying seeing as I couldn’t watch them as they were new and weren’t on Netflix yet, but we did it! The last season was a little shorter but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. To be quite honest, it was my personal favorite season. I can’t tell the seasons apart when I haven’t watched them all at once (I have to know the scene you just finished in a book; the chapter number does not work.) so I don’t know which is my favorite. Numbers are beautiful for referencing thing for my personality. #)

It was fun to watch them grow and change and the sisters get closer and learn to defend each other and themselves. Honestly, amazing relationship dynamics all around. Everyone grew up and got some great adventures on the way with drama to spare. I think my favorite part, though, was to watch the girls’ relationships with their moms (new and known) blossom into friendships as well as a mother-daughter relationship. It really is nice, especially as they aged and grew into adults (young ones) themselves. It was very emotional. The characters in this show were very lucky to have two sets of parents, but especially two moms, although I do have to say ACG and I pretty lucky to have our moms as moms, even if we only each get the one. I think we’ve finally convinced them to sign off on an unofficial dual childship, but even without that, AJA is right. Our moms are spectacular. With Mother’s Day being tomorrow, that has really been brought to the forefront of our lives right now.

So to any mothers reading this: HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! And to any children, tell your moms or the mothering figures in your lives that you love them tomorrow, and until next week, drive safely!

We love our moms, and you better love yours, too! Keep your hugs in the car and your flowers in the pool. ❤ 😀 😉 O.o 🙂

WHAT TIME IS IT? SUMMER TIME!

Hey, y’all!!! Sorry if I’m a little overeager today, but this week has marked the end of a HUGE accomplishment for us. WE ARE NO LONGER CHILDREN IN THE WORLD OF COLLEGE!!! (aka we completed our first year and are both now at least sophomores 😀 ) Yes we are. Sophomore year is still terrifying to come up because we get to start all over again (I mean, sorta… but at least we know where the least cringe elevators are in a lot of buildings lol, so true), but that doesn’t matter because we are DONE for now. YAASSS!!! 😀

With that, naturally we have stopped using our cognitive processing for at least the first couple weeks of summer. I’ve stopped being able to talk (I apparently cannot type, so this post is a huge accomplishment 😉 ), and we have resorted to filling our time with easier (read as: mindless) and more fun activities (which is anything as long as we’re together instead of me being 130 miles away 😉 AMEN ) .

To be more specific, however, we’ve both taken up playing a few games on our phones or computers. The common games have to do with something near and dear to most everyone’s hearts…pets! The one we both have is Neko Atsume, which is a cat specific game, but ACG is into a game that includes a massive variety of animals. It defies gravity (*restrains my inner musical nerd* #Wicked), so I appreciate that along with the multiple kinds of animals. Also, I got conned into getting Neko Atsume, but I appreciate it so much that I forget AJA “tricked” me into it. ;P (We were talking, and she told me to get it, so I did it on blind faith. Got that right! It was a suggestion! )

Other games we’ve recently enjoyed is an Inside Out game Thought Bubbles, and if you remember summer 2015, you’ll know we loved Inside Out very much! The game is just as cute as the movie, although slightly more infuriating once you get to level 38. @) I think ACG has a version of Candy Crush, she’s playing too. Soda Saga. I can’t stand find the bears, and currently eat the chocolate is eating my lunch, but it’s fine.

I’m sure by the end of this phase we will have found even more games to play, but for now I think we’ve covered them, except AJA has more cat specific games she can tell you all about. 🙂 DON’T MURDER YOUR CATS LIKE I DO BY RUNNING INTO THE SPIKES. MAKE YOUR FINGER MORE ATTRACTIVE. PET YOUR KITTENS REGULARLY! DON’T FORGET YOU HAVE COINS!!!!!!!!!!! Ahem. It’s called Play With Cats, if you’re into that sort of thing. 😉 Blame my college roommate. For probably more than just that game, but that’s for another time. (I’m just kidding, she’s chill.) I don’t have that cat games, but they’ve been cool to observe. Gotta love distracting yourself from reality through pixels, lol.

Drive safely, and don’t play with cats while doing so. 😉 ❤

Keep your cats in pixels and your pixels in the nail polish!  🙂 ;P 😀 ❤ 😉 :O O.o

Summer…Summer…Summer…

Hey, y’all! For students everywhere summer is closing in, weeks and maybe days away. In fact, a lot of people are already out for summer. And believe us, we are ready to join them. By this time next week, we will have that opportunity and boy are we going to seize the freedom that summer brings (even if at least one of us needs to find a job, ahem. me). RED VELVET WAFFLES!!!

Sorry about that, I’m excited. But we have a list and plan to get it done. All that means is that we have to get through…*drum roll please*….FINALS. They’re stressful, they stink, and some of them are actually just projects instead which is a nice break. And sometimes professors are really nice and make finals that have cheat sheets or in my case open notes and bring your own device. Sometimes they even make finals optional, like one of my roommate’s finals! So, hopefully we both will survive and so will anyone else facing finals.

Keep your brains in the cabinet and your Reese’s in the freezer. 🙂 😀 😉 O.o 😛 ❤ 🙂

Drive safely ❤

P.S. GOOD LUCK if you have your own finals or even just tests coming up!

Post-Graduation Kind Of Early Class Reunion Sleep Over (*Creepy Music*)

Good evening, our dear friends! (That…made me feel like I was welcoming you to a haunted house. Maybe a little bit. Ahem. Anyway.) Hey, y’all! Our weekends have been chock full recently, but this time it really is Saturday. Honestly, it feels so strange, even if it’s only really been one weekend where we had to schedule a post. This weekend it was mostly just our Friday that had adventure all in it.

See, we had a party to go to. It wasn’t a dance party or anything, and it actually felt more like a strange graduate shower…? We got cool but strangely domestic gifts. Towels and hangers, soap and tissues–all very useful items and much more lovely than I’m making them sound by listing them in such a way. There was also pens and binders with paper already in them.

Because of the intriguing nature of this party, we thought we’d share with you all some things we learned from a Post-Graduation Kind Of Early Class Reunion Sleep Over (I don’t know what I’m doing, tbh).

  1. Life happens to everyone, and boys seem to be at the top of the list.
  2. You CAN talk a topic to death, even if it’s a topic that would generally be enjoyed by most of the parties present.
  3. Not everyone watches movies the same way. Some like to sit quietly and actually watch intently.
  4. There are more collectible toys than one would think is possible.
  5. Disney can actually be life.
  6. But people you don’t expect might read lots of the same books as you.
  7. Some playing cards have been made especially for the military.
  8. Gluten-free brownies are actually pretty great.

There may have been a couple more minor things we learned, but I think this pretty well covers everything. Keep your hats on toes and your faces in the Jello. 🙂 ;P 😀 :/ ❤ 😉 😛 O.o 🙂

As always, please remember to drive safely in strange lands on strange 800 lane roads.

Read-A-Thon (Alternate Title: Secretly Written On A Friday)

Hey, y’all! We have a confession to make, we are creating this on a Friday at 3:00 instead of a Saturday at 10:00. Fortunately, it’s for a very, very good reason. We are going to be indisposed for the next “thirty-six” hours for a twenty-four hour readathon. Then we may have to sleep. If we have not been turned into vampires by then, I certainly hope we will sleep, especially since this is eating most all of the weekend and we need to be recharged for the next week.

It’s funny because quite frankly when we think about–and I know ACG and I share this opinion–about twenty-four hours in relation to being at our library, where the read-a-thon is happening, it doesn’t feel that long, but in reality it’s a rather long time. It is, and I feel like I’m preparing for a battle while getting everything together, even if it is not a super strict YOU MUST READ AND NEVER TAKE ANY BREAKS. My arsenal is ready to go so I can leave once we finish since I live a few more minutes away than AJA. Snacks, caffeinated beverages, and ALL THE BOOKS are our necessities. And boy am I ready.

So, since we need to get off go slay some wicked reads and claim our crowns of Queen Readers, I am going to sign off with my usual reminder to: drive safely. ❤

Keep your glasses in the punch and the hairbrushes in the closet. 😀 🙂 😛 😉 ❤ :/ 😀

FYI, here’s what’s on the docket:

ACG has Conjure, The Black Book of Secrets, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, Nobody’s Princess, Because It Is My Blood, and Glass Sword. {The last two have been started previously, but the rest I know next to nothing about. Also, I am bringing my entire Kindle library, so over 200 more options.}

AJA: The Raven Cycle books, Solitaire, the first two books of the Harry Potter series (because I’m a loser who has never read them or watched the movies), Firstlife (unfinished), and The Crown (unfinished) // (I only intend to read the first series listed, but I am listing all the books I’m bringing.)

Dads

Good evening and happy birthday! If your birthday is anything like mine and ACG’s dads’, it’s this week.  Hey, y’all. I’m not gonna include the if clause, because if you are a dad, I have a feeling that your birthday is either passed recently (Happy Birthday in three languages) or is set to pass within the next week. There was even a baby boy I know of born today (I think) that will (likely) be a father one day. *screams*

Why is it that males like to be born in June? The month that already has an entire day set aside to those males that reproduced and/or raised children! Don’t get me wrong, I love my father and AJA’s father, and the concept of fathers everywhere, but it seems a bit stressful when you have to do something for Father’s Day and then the very next day is a birthday to also make a deal about. Part of the “problem” is that we want to give our fathers our all, the best we can, but doing that twice is like trying to one-up yourself! Exactly. It’s just hard. I like to believe that my presence itself counts as part of the gift. Ooh! Good thought. 😀

Anyway, we still love our fathers, even if they are making this week all about them. 😉 Happy birthday, Dad and ACG’s Dad. As you would encourage us to do, drive safely (except I don’t drive, don’t point that out, ACG. I’m watching you. *narrows eyes*).

Never dreamed of it. *smiles angelically* Keep your dads in the dunking booth and your spoons in the toolbox. 🙂 😛 😀 O.o :’D ❤ 😉
