Dead, But Encouraged

Hey, y’all! It’s ACG here tonight. Last year about this time, and possibly the year before (my memory doesn’t go that far back) we have posted about the fact that we were at a weekend long Bible study at the church where we attend. We started on Friday night at 7 and heard 9 lessons and a singing after. It was amazing, but we are exhausted and scrambling to get stuff together for Fathers’ Day (which we may post about late, but not tonight, so enjoy your Dads or dad-like figures please <3).

Keep your friends close and your pens closer. 😉 😛 🙂 O.o 😀 ❤

Best Friends Day

Hey, y’all! Good evening, friends! Which…is intriguing…to call you friends, seeing as yesterday was National Best Friends’ Day. We were lucky that we got to see all of our friend group at various points throughout the day, but I’m also extremely grateful that AJA and I got to hang out together some on this day, too. It was a fantastic day, and having ACG in my life is such a blessing and so is having the rest of our “super group.”

It’s a blessing for everyone to have AJA in their lives. I’m so glad that we get to have this blog together, but also to get to use it to tell everyone how great of a friend you are. 😉 One of my favorite things about AJA, y’all, is her passion. When she decides she loves something (or someone) or wants to do something, hold on or get out of the way. She gives everything she has to do what she’s dedicated to. Lucky for all of us that’s usually in a good direction. ;P ❤

Aww, thanks, friend. I have to tell you that my favorite thing about ACG is her boldness. She’s honest and creative and who she is. Sure, like all people she has insecure moments but most of the time she is confident in her thoughts and ideas and will tell you like it is. And that’s such an admirable and helpful quality.

Friendship is such a gift, and I would not be the person I am without ACG or our other friends. We are so blessed. So, make sure you acknowledge this and tell the people in your life they matter to you.

It most certainly is. I can’t imagine my life without her or them. So on that note, keep your friends close and your best friends closer! ❤ 😉 😀 🙂 😛 O.o

And always drive safely as though your bestie was in the car! 😉 ❤

Absent Cowgirls (or at least cow-watchers)

Hey, y’all! It’s just ACG tonight because, (sorta) ironically, AJA has been enjoying her time at the local rodeo with C. We all went last night (It was an absolute blast!), but I didn’t join them tonight.

I don’t want to steal the thunder for myself when we were both there, so we may talk about that later, but I at least wanted y’all to know where we were and a little bit about what we had been up to on our first official shared week of summer break. (I had an extra bit of time due to being at different schools, but we’re both out now which is great.)

Until then, keep your hooves on the ground and your horns held high! ❤ 🙂 😀 😉 😛 O.o

Fishy Affection

Hey, y’all! Hello, beans, asaparagi, and other delicious creatures. #)

Tonight’s post is indeed about everyone’s favorite: SQUISHES! Now, we are aware some people do not enjoy human contact and that’s fine. BUT most people DO enjoy what hugs in general represent which is affection, care, comfort, etc.

Well, now… we’ve thought about it and fishes? They LACK SQUISHES! O.o It’s not THEIR fault that they’re water-bound and scaley. So, how shall we remedy that problem? SquishesForFishes, an organization dedicated to the emotional support of all fishes. We thought of this because fishes rhymes with squishes, and being the wordsmith nerds that we are, we made the connection and realized that all of these poor fish are at such a disadvantage. This may even be affecting their lives in ways such as the lack of comfort giving them less motivation to escape more predatory fish, or maybe the more predatory fish more motivation to torment their prey. (We are not endorsing hugging predatory fish without professional supervision and assistance.)

What the organization will do is facilitate a safe meeting place for fishes and people to come together and bond. Starting small, we will probably only have the means to provide a single option (probably just being with a fish one-on-one, feeding, and possibly getting to give it a hand hug inside its tank or area, not giving it a full blown hug just yet), but with future development and successes, we would like to possibly have more options (like swimming with the fishes to get a chance to hug and bond with more of them at once and to feel closer to the fish, in their own habitat). Of course in order to use the habitat you are instructed on the proper way to squish a fish and communicate about what you and the fish are comfortable with prior to being introduced into the bubble of meeting. This requires two courses: Glub Glub and Friends with Fins. These are ran in a group discussion style with a translator ratio of 1:3 per fish and human pairs.

SquishesForFish will be coming to an aquarium near you in 2020 😉 if all goes well. So please make sure to NOT visit SquishesForFishes.org for more information and as always drive safely. ❤

Always keep your fins in a bow and your fingers out of the gill!!! 🙂 ❤ ;P O.o 🙂 😀 😉

We’re Back…Hopefully for A While

Hello! I am here, AJA in text, to remind you all that I have, in fact, NOT died. ACG is sitting beside me and for once in the past month we can be on together and with me not feeling dead in one way or another. So this is a VERY exciting night (like getting to carry two things across the entirety of Walmart without falling level exciting). Hey, y’all! It’s great to have AJA back, and now we get to have the conversations I know everyone has missed so much.  To kick that off tonight how about a list post of a FEW things that have been going on lately? 😉

But first, we have a lot of people we’re about to talk about as a part of our lives. Before we talk about what we’ve been up to, let’s identify some people:
-Previously, we have referred to our “other friend.” We said this because she is our best friend and we didn’t really talk about anyone else. But now that is changing, so we wanted to let you know that we will be calling her “K.”
-Second, we have AJA’s boyfriend. He’s only kind of recently (few months now– excuse, it’s basically 6 months as of next Thursday @)) popped up. We shall call him “C.” (And he shall be my C, and ‘I will love him and squeeze him and hold him forever’ to quote Dory.)

  1. Game nights galore! With the addition of people to our friend group, we have been able to play more card based games like Nertz (my favorite), poker, LIFE, and Monopoly (in Deal or Board forms).
  2. Lots of late coffee runs and the continuing of games being played but also while donuts are being ingested.
  3. I know I mentioned birthdays last week, and I didn’t even have all of the information then. My birthday happened, then 2 days later C (more to come about him later) had his birthday. Then K had her birthday, and after that there was a shared birthday between yet another friend and then AJA’s grandfather had his birthday, too! That’s 5 birthdays within a week and 2 days of each other.
  4. Cooking. Lots and lots of experiments and makeshift meals. We’re college students and a couple of teenagers in our friend group. We are hungry and either plan out elaborate courses of meals or have to scramble at the last minute and be grateful for unnoticed chicken from earlier in the week. (The more elaborate meals are usually C’s idea. For instance, a brunch meal of amazing cheesy hash browns and fried eggs and ACG’s FAMOUS waffles 😉 )
  5. Normally movies aren’t our thing. We’d rather be hanging out or not tied to a single seat for the entire length of one. However, we have seen a few movies in the past few weeks, both in theatre and at home. Over Spring Break, we practically watched the entire Harry Potter series. We went to see A Quiet Place in theater, which was an AMAZING movie. There were a few others thrown in there, but basically we spent a lot of our time watching movies and just relaxing together.
  6. Also, on top of all the unproductive fun we’ve tried to fit in some physical activity too, and that’s been…challenging at times and really fun at others. I have a bit of a leg up on ACG because my boyfriend will randomly want to go play disc golf while she’s still in class, and I end up with a crazy step average and dying muscles. But there have been times when both ACG and I have gotten to be physical lately, especially this last week and I think in the summer it’ll be even better.:)
  7. Speaking of this boyfriend that keeps stealing AJA away, a couple weeks ago K and I got to give C our tokens. To explain, a few years back, I designed this token system for the three of us to follow. Each of us got our token and we had one for each of the other two. When we approved of the guy, the token got given to show that. K and I had been putting it off for a while because this was the first token-giving and, well, we weren’t sure how to do it. But C is really great, and we’re glad that AJA has him, so we finally figured out a way to do it and make it official. (Read as: we wrote a letter and tossed it at him before we started playing Monopoly one day, but it was a sweet moment.)
  8. While we are so, so tremendously grateful for all the fun that’s been keeping us from posting we’ve also had more than a few incidences of exhaustion/unwellness keeping us–well, more specifically me–tied up. The past month has been amazing but it’s been the roughest for me healthwise since the fall. With that being said, hopefully I am on an upward trend, will be able to take advantage of the summer to get lots of rest and try altering my lifestyle a bit to aid my health, and we can start posting regularly again. 🙂 ❤

This has been one hectic, wonderful, crazy, intense, amazing month. In every moment, I think we’ve both felt loved or learned something. So, that’s…what we’ve been up to. I has definitely been an intense, action filled month. I can’t improve on what she’s said so I’m just going to agree.

Keep your friends close and your llamas in the mason jar! ❤ 🙂 ;P 😉 😀 O.o

Drive safely, friends! ❤

Sweat Soup

Hey, y’all! HELLO! We don’t have much news, but what we do is a HOT topic. 😉 Oh, ACG… Oh my my my.

THE HEAT OF THE SUMMER IS UPON US AS WE APPROACH THE END OF JULY, especially in our region of the nation. Nearly every day this week the weather app on my phone has reminded me to be cautious due to extreme heat. Walking outside has been voluntarily becoming ingredients in sweat soup (contents: sweat, 100% humidity, the probability of skin cancer, and deodorant that lasted .2 seconds; WARNING: may result in spontaneous human combustion). The app said 87 and the real feel portion said 104 one day. That’s insane.

How do we combat this? We have no idea. We’ve just come to accept that it’s hot in the summer; it was hot in the summer in the past, and it will always be hot in the summer. Well, until our impending ice age, BUT FIRST WE MELT!

Stay safe out in the heat, my dudes. Wear your sunscreen, and please wear your deodorant, even if it won’t last. My words of wisdom: stay in the AC, if possible. Yessssss, do that!

Drive safely away from the sun!!!

Keep your heads in the freezer and your feet in the pool! ❤ 😉 😛 🙂 😀 O.o

Wise Waiting

Hey, y’all! It’s just ACG here, because AJA just had her wisdom teeth removed. She’s doing really well, just tired and hurting some (as you know if you’ve ever had the…experience). I had mine done when I was younger so I don’t remember it as well, but it’s not something people forget. She’s brave and strong, though, so she should be back next week. 😉

We aren’t doing watermelon dresses like we joked about last week, and because of the circumstances, our plan for this week will be postponed until next week. (It’s really great, promise.)

Until then, keep your shirts in the pool and your toys in the dryer. 😉 😀 ❤ O.o 😛

WATERMELON!!!

Hello! Hey, y’all!!! We’re a week into July, which means summer is at its…most intense. Meaning you’re most likely to drown to death walking to your car (especially if you live in the South).  That being said, there are also some very happy and fun things in the summer (she means “heat doom time”).  Some of these things can even help you stay hydrated and keep your taste buds satisfied throughout this time of heatstroke.

One of our personal favorites of this type is watermelon! It’s sticky and sweet and a ton of fun to eat. It’s also very juicy and fresh tasting. It makes you feel less dead even when you’ve already passed out from heating exhaustion seven times in your soul.

Watermelon is great as the fruit itself, but there are also other ways to enjoy this wonderful gift to mankind. We recently found watermelon tea, and I re-found one of my favorite juices in history. Also, there’s a recipe for watermelon/fruit pizza that is amazing, especially if you trade the whipped cream out for cream cheese frosting (I think it’d be just fine with whipped cream, but you have to understand ACG is a weirdo who demands things be organized as well as rejects whipped cream, so :/ there’s no helping her).

Recently we’ve definitely been seeking out all things watermelon, although we haven’t tried the “Watermelon Dress” thing we’ve seen on the internet. No, although when I first saw that, I was really wondering how they made dresses out of watermelon. Then I opened the article. Maybe we can try it out next post. 😉 @)

Keep your seeds in the ground and your rinds in your shoes. 🙂 ;P 😀 😉 ❤ O.o

Also, watermelon is juicy, so if you’re gonna eat and drive, please do so safely. 😉 ❤

“It was the 4th of July… You and I were fireworks…”

Hello! Hey, y’all!!!

So, being the good American teenagers that we are, we want to talk about a huge part of an upcoming holiday. The holiday we’re talking about is July 4th, or Independence Day for non-Americans to whom July 4th is just another day of a month. The “huge part” of that holiday we’re talking about is a truly American tradition: blowing things up. Okay, okay… Fireworks, which aren’t actually American, but that aside. They’re pretty…like our country. Exactly! They’re one of the most integral parts of the holiday, besides family (and nationalism #) ).

There are all kinds of fireworks sold in enormous quantities leading up to the day. IMAGINE: ENTIRE STORES FILLED WITH COLORFUL EXPLOSIVES. THINGS THAT POP AND CRACKLE JUST FOR CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENT. SQUEALING CHICKENS THAT HAVE BALLOONS THAT APPEAR OUT OF THEIR REARS BECAUSE YOU SET THEM ON FIRE! Nothing has ever sounded more patriotic! (I think you can tell I don’t understand what fireworks have to do with America.) I did not know those existed (city folk have to get creative since we can’t have big booms in our backyard :/). My favorites are more traditional like Butterflies and Roman Candles. Snappers were always fun to use, and sparklers (the most beautiful gift to firework kind) were a childhood memory attached to a long story about being separated from my mother.

Fireworks can be really beautiful. For Americans on July 4, they are exciting and bring people together in this country to remember that we are all together in this nation that isn’t perfect every day but is pretty great on the overall.

My personal theory on the purpose of fireworks in connection to Independence Day is not well researched, but I think it fits. There’s a line in the Star Spangled Banner that says, “the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.” Fireworks can loosely mimic cannon shots and serve as a nice piece of symbolism to remind us of the war that was fought for Americans to have their own country and make their own rules for themselves.  (This thought makes a ton of sense to me and is kind of great, in my opinion.)

Have a happy Fourth of July, whether it’s a holiday or not!!! Keep your heads in the air and your hands in the matchbox! ❤ 😀 😉 😛 O.o 🙂

Drive safely, especially if you’re in America since it’ll be a holiday! ❤

*Note about the title: Fourth of July by Fall Out Boy was stuck in my head. #)

Rockabye Lullaby

Hi! Hey, y’all! So, most people that are in school are out for summer break right now. Of course, there are some crazy humans who take summer classes, but we’re talking about most people.  For most people who are still in school, summer is a time of freedom. Even those with jobs, often are only working part time. This freedom makes it a little easy to get out of routine. All kinds of adventures happen, but one thing tends to be common with everyone: sleep schedules turn a 180.

That is exactly what has happened to the two of us. We were going to be responsible humans and try to keep some semblance of good sleep like the baby-adults that we are.

That lasted until about the beginning of this week (maybe seven weeks? give or take a few days). For vaguely concerning random pain, I was given a steroid injection, which I’d like to blame most of our lack of rest for. Since, you know, ACG and I are attached at the brain apparently. #) Of course we are. Friends that don’t-sleep together stay together. 😉 I wasn’t given a steroid shot, but I was still up, because, well, AJA and I are tight, and why not stay up for most of the dark hours together?

Really, though, for reasons other than being baby-adults we are going to try to get back on schedule, because we also like seeing each other during the daytime, too. True. And that’s sometimes a little hard to do on a continual three to five hours of sleep. Yeah, that’s not a long term functional process for anyone.

So, to everyone who is partying all night and sleeping all day, enjoy it. One day you’ll have to be more grown-up, do things during the day, and sometimes stay up too late for the occasional party. If you’re one of the ones who’s never stayed up all night at least once a week on any given summer, please try it sometime. It’s a great time (great might be a stretch, unless the company is right forgot that modifier, whoops).

Keep your pillows in the garden and your sheep in the kitchen! 🙂 ❤ 😀 😉 😛 O.o

Drive safely, which can only really be done on a proper amount of sleep. 😉 ❤
